The new mini is here! The 2011 Holiday mini is here!

2011 Holiday Mini

The new 2011 Holiday Mini is now available!  It is FULL of beautiful new products perfect for your holiday giving needs!  My personal favorite is the Simply Scored Scoring Tool!  Get ready for some fun folding projects that will be easy to make with this great new tool.  Yes, I know, there have been other scoring tools on the market for years, but Stampin’ Up!  did a great job creating this one to be better than the rest.  You will see it often at my future workshops and quickly realize it’s benefits.  But the catalog has much more as well so be sure to check it out here!  Their trend of providing punches to match stamp sets continues with an adorable stocking set/punch.  I  know what I’ll be using for this year’s Christmas cards!  If you did not receive a catalog in the mail and would like one, just become one of my customers by placing one $50 order per year and I’ll put you on my mailing list to receive ALL mini catalogs in the mail as soon as they leave the printer.  Checking it out online is great, but in person is even better!   Let’s get started with our Holiday Projects!

I won!

a free stamp set!  Stampin’ Up! treats it’s demos quite well.  All I did was complete a survey with my opinions and today I received an email saying I won the random drawing for a free stamp set that will be available in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog!  I have no idea what the set looks like or anything, but FREE is always good!  I’m sure it will be an adorable set.  With a name “Make it Happy”, I’m sure it will be cuter than cute.  Even if it’s not exactly my style, I can’t complain since I didn’t pay for it Laughing.  I imagine most DSA companies treat their consultants periodically to some special gifts.  But if you needed another reason to consider joining my Stampin’ Up! family, here it is!  In addition to receiving your demo discount on all of your personal orders, previews to upcoming products, the ability to pre-order products to help you get a jump start on your special projects, ability to earn FREE stamps, you can also receive FREE stamps without selling anything!  Just head on over to my store using the click here to order button to the right of this post and follow the Join Me links to sign up.  While there is not a current special for joining today, it’s always a good time to become a demo.

Fun Flowers Birthday Card

A new friend has a birthday this week.  Since I don’t know her favorite colors or style, I decided to make a card with some feminine touches – flowers!  When writing this post, I realized it needed a bit more so I added some bling with a Rhinestone (119246) to dot the “i” in Birthday.  The card base is Soft Suede (115318) with a panel of Whisper White (100730) embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots (117335) embossing folder, sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The large flower was made with the Fun Flowers Die (121812) cut in Whisper White then sponged with Soft Suede to accentuate the embossing on each flower layer.  Since I LOVE my embossing folders, I used several on this flower – the Vintage Wallpaper (120175) on the largest flower, then Elegant Lines (119277), Finial Press (115963) and ending with Perfect Polka dots for the center circle.  All together, I thought it made a pretty, flirty flower, don’t you think?  The sentiment is from one of my most used sets, which is unfortunately retired Cry stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White, then punched with the Extra-Large Oval (119859) punch layered on a Modern Label (119849) punched out of Soft Suede. Just enough of the label appears behind the oval to add some interest – it’s the little details that sometimes make a card!  This completed embellishment was then popped up on dimensionals (104430).

I couldn’t let the inside of the card be plain (plus it’s hard to read writing on a darker card stock) so I added a panel of Whisper White, stamped in Soft Suede using some flourishes from a retired stamp set – sorry!  But I must use what I have and you should, too!  Now even my message will be “dressed up”.  Of course I will use my Soft Suede marker for my note so it will match the inked images.  That is totally the BEST part about Stampin’ Up! products – everything matches or coordinates so beautifully!!!!!  I hope she likes it and that we are friends for a long time!

Concord Grape Baroque Motifs birthday card

One of my good friends had a birthday this week.  Since her favorite color is purple, I made this card for her using Concord Crush (119785).  It’s actually ink  brayered on glossy card stock so it shines a bit in person.  I stamped the flourish from Baroque Motifs (113490) in Whisper White craft ink (101731) then added some punched flowers from a retired punch in Whisper White card stock with Concord Grape circle centers.  I burnished the flowers a bit for some added dimension.  This was all mounted on Basic Black card stock, then onto a Whisper White card base.  The sentiment is from an old hostess set, but you could use any set you have.  The sentiment was heat embossed with White embossing powder (109132) onto a scratch piece of Whisper White card stock that was sponged with Concord Crush ink and punched with the Extra-Large Oval punch (119859), layered onto a Basic Black piece punched with the Decorative Label (120907) punch.  3/8″ White Taffeta Ribbon (109070) tied in a simple knot adds a nice feminine final touch to this simple purple birthday card.  I do hope she likes it!

the end is near . . .

the end of August, that is.  Sorry if I scared you.  But August is almost over and I just don’t want you to miss out on a few things that end next week.  You may still order from the summer mini until August 31, 2011.  The nautical themed items offered there are terrific for those hard to do masculine projects.  My favorite new accessory is the postage stamp punch – so sad it didn’t make it into the new big catalog Cry.  But you still have time to order one! Don’t miss out!!!  Another great item is the Strength & Hope Set available in either clear or wood mount.  For every set sold (including the digital kit), Stampin’ Up! will donate $2 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  So order your stamp set or digital kit today (it’s so pretty) and you’ll be helping that wonderful Foundation!  Of course there is even more in that little catalog so be sure to take one last look before the end of this month!

You also have until August 31, 2011 to take advantage of the Designer Series Paper special, Buy 3 get one FREE.  Download the flyer here to read more details and place your order by clicking on the button to the right that will take you to my Stampin’ Up! online store.  And of course, if you have any questions, just send me an email!

Now that school has started, Fall will zoom by, starting with the end of August!  Be sure to return to my blog next week for the link to our next mini catalog, the Holiday Mini.  It is FULL of wonderful new products, perfect for your giving needs!  For those of you who have received your copy in the mail, you  know what I mean.  If you would like to receive catalogs throughout the year via snail mail, just become one of my customers and spend only $50 per year – I’ll add you to my mailing list and you’ll see the catalogs as soon as they ship from the printer!  Seeing the products online is fine, but seeing the catalog in person makes such a difference.
