Sorry I’ve been gone . . .

from my blog.  I’ve been spending so much time deleting spam comments every day, that I just haven’t had the incentive to post Frown.  But I’m still here and doing a bit of stamping when I find some free time.  I’ve made a few Christmas cards so I’ll post them as soon as I take some pictures – it’s been so rainy lately here that I haven’t taken any pictures.  Hopefully I can get something up this week or next.  In the meantime, here are some tips for mass producing Christmas cards:

Keep to 3 colors or less in your design.

Break card into steps so you can create an assembly pattern.  For example, stamp all sentiment images at one time for, say 20 cards at a time.  Punch/cut sentiments and then set aside for final assembly.  Cut/punch other element(s) and set aside as well.  Then assemble all parts of cards in groups of 20.  I find that doing more than 20 at a time can be a bit daunting, especially if embossing is involved.

Design your card taking advantage of the tools and products you have on hand.  For example, if you have a Big Shot, use embossing folders to quickly add amazing texture and detail to the base of your card.  If you have punches, use them for sentiments or to create your own embellishments.  Use any glitter or other embellishments you have purchased throughout the year.  I cannot stress this enough – USE what you have!
